My 2017 Photo Review. 2017 was the first full year I had a permanent studio. So in the year I tried to hone my studio craft. Here is my studio-heavy set of favorite photos from 2017.
Facing Time Project
The Facing Time Project was my big personal project in 2017. I photographed people between the ages of 55 and 100 and asked them their thoughts on aging and what advice they would have. Pearl, age 100, was my favorite subject. See all 43 subjects to date and get their advice on Facing Time Project portfolio.
Metal Background Portraits
I love shooting in my studio. It allowed me an opportunity to experiment with lighting including some creative gel lighting on backgrounds. Click here for more Studio Portraits.
It was not all studio. My road trip north resulted in lots of great photos. These are two of my favorites. And one from my trip to Joshua Tree. See my California Road Trips portfolio.
Headshot Day Photos
We always loved this green door near our studio. So we dressed up Patricia and created this photo.
I had a great time working with Blackfire Research at their site executive portraits, lab photos, work style photos and their Group Photo.
I continued my partnership with InMenlo. This photo of Farrier Maggie Lee was one of my favorite photos of the year.
I got this shot of the 2017 eclipse during a break in our SRK Headshot Day in Menlo Park.
